Melanie Dimler has been named a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
State Superintendent Eric Mackey honored Hewitt-Trussville High School teacher and Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching awardee Melanie Dimler at a rally in January.
Two Hewitt-Trussville High School students’ artwork has been recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and will now compete on the national level.
Corinne Caprara has won a Gold Key for her mixed media work, “Flowering,” which will go to the national competition. Caprara also won an award for her portfolio, “Expressions of a Psyche.”
Maggie Ardeneaux has won a Gold Key for her work, “Post-Op,” which will go to the national competition.
