A Foundry in a Box volunteer works with a Hewitt-Trussville High School Engineering Academy student.
A team of industry casting professionals from Foundry in a Box recently visited Hewitt-Trussville High School. The students were told how people are never six feet away from a part that has been cast or was made from machines that were cast.
The team discussed how castings are created from 3-D designs and 3-D prints to the making of the molds to the pouring of the metal. The students saw how companies utilize the same 3-D design software they use in class to make patterns for the molds.
Foundry in a Box is made up of volunteers from several local casting companies.
