Longtime Hewitt-Trussville High School cross-country and track and field coach David Dobbs has been named the 2020 Ned & Goldie Paine Gatekeeper of the Year by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Longtime Hewitt-Trussville High School cross-country and track and field coach David Dobbs has been named the 2020 Ned & Goldie Paine Gatekeeper of the Year by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dobbs, who led student-athletes for 30 years, still serves as an assistant coach for HTHS. He was nominated for this prestigious civic award by TCS Athletics Director Lance Walker.
The Trussville Public Library took home the Group Winner award this year.
The award’s namesake, Ned and Goldie Paine, were well-known Trussville residents. The award began in 1966 and is given annually to one individual and one organization for outstanding civic service to Trussville.
