Hewitt-Trussville High School is set to celebrate Homecoming with a full slate of events this week, culminating with Friday night’s football matchup against Pinson Valley.
The festivities kick off Wednesday night with the annual Powderpuff flag football games at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium. Seniors face freshmen in Game 1, followed by juniors versus sophomores in Game 2. The winners will square off in a championship game. The Homecoming King will be announced between the first and second games. Action begins at 6 p.m. Student passes will not be accepted for admission.
On Thursday, students and families can line the streets for the Homecoming Parade, beginning at 4 p.m. The route starts on Pump House Road and winds along Cherokee Drive, Parkway Drive, Highway 11 and North Chalkville Road before ending at North Mall.
The week wraps up Friday as the Huskies host Pinson Valley at 7 p.m. at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium. Tickets are available through GoFan, with cash and card accepted at the main gate. Fans unable to attend can stream the game live on the Husky Fast Network or NFHS Network.
Hewitt-Trussville leads the all-time series against Pinson Valley 26-7 and has won the last 10 meetings. With clear skies and mid-70s temperatures in the forecast, the Huskies are calling on fans to pack the stands in red and gray for this year’s Homecoming under the lights.
